Experience Laudato si’ at WYD

1- Discover the Laudato si’ space and the Indigenous village located at Youth Park.

2- Reduce your use of plastics.

Inside your pilgrim pack there is a reusable bottle which you can refill at the hydration stations located at the parishes, catechesis venues, Central Acts, Festivals, and adjoining events.

Attention pilgrim: Please avoid as much as possible the use of single-use plastic bottles. In case of need of using them please ensure their recycling.

3-The Laudato si’ spaces have been built by the parishes with the purpose of praying for and with the Creation, as well as presenting the encyclical environmental initiatives.

Attention pilgrim: Once an event has finalized, please leave your area clean and devoid of trash. Inspire all of your group to do the same.

“There is a nobility in the duty to care for creation through little daily actions,” Pope Francis (Laudato si, 211).

Trash will be separated into the following categories: recyclables, non-recyclables, and plastic bottles.

Prayer for our earth

All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures. You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty. Fill us with peace, that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one. O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth, so precious in your eyes.
Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey on it, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction. Touch the hearts of those who look only for gain at the expense of the poor and the earth. Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe and contemplation, to recognize that we are profoundly united with every creature as we journey towards your infinite light. We thank you for being with us each day. Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle for justice, love and peace.

A pilgrim only acquires and uses what is necessary, as Christ showed the apostles. Don’t buy more than what you will be consuming.
